What is Clinical Research?
Before any medical treatments become available to doctors and patients, they first must pass through rigorous testing by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These tests are known as Clinical Trials.
Clinical Trials:
- Evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new medical treatments
- Compare new medicines to existing treatments
- Study different ways to use current treatments so that they can be more effective, easier to use and/or have fewer side effects
